Why make this site?
I made this site to help all of us poor souls that are so hopelessly addicted to Slurpees that we can't function without their sweet nectar of life.
How does this site work?It starts out with you wanting a Slurpee and using the site to find the closest 7-Eleven store with your favorite flavor. Upon your return from that store, you update this site with the flavors currently at that store. Then, everyone after you can enjoy the same benefits you had of knowing exactly which Slurpee flavors are at which 7-Eleven stores.
Do I have to create an account to use the site?No. You don't have to create an account to find your favorite Slurpee flavor. However, I greatly encourage creating an account since you must have an account to update the flavors and without people like you updating the flavors, this entire site useless.
What do you do with my personal information?I don't do anything with your personal information. The information you submit when registering for an account is only used on this site. You name is necessary for display next to the stores you update; your address determines the location of your marker on the flavor map; and your phone number is used merely to complete the list of contact options (email, postal mail, phone) but I will never call you hence the phone number field is optional. I wouldn't know how to sell your information or who to sell it to even if I wanted to...
Is JavaScript required to view this site?
Yes and No. Certain parts of this website will work whether or not you have JavaScript enabled or disabled. However, the main functionality of this website relies on JavaScript being enabled. For example, the Flavor Search, Flavor Map, and Help ToolTips all require JavaScript. In my opinion, the Flavor Map is the main feature of this site and if it needs JavaScript, then I would be inclined to say yes, you need JavaScript to view this site.
What can I do if I notice something wrong with the website?With as much going on as there is on this website there are bound to be errors. That being said, I have build it numerous features to alert me of issues when they arise so I probably already have and email waiting for me telling me what went wrong. However, I would still like you to visit the Feedback page and tell me what wrong. Include the page the error occurred on as well the steps I would need to take to reproduce the error so I can be sure to fix the exact problem in a timely manner.
I have an idea to improve the site. What can I do?You can tell me about it! Simply visit the Feedback page and enter some basic information along with your idea and I will be happy to take a look and what you're thinking.
My "home" map location isn't correct, can I fix it?
Yes! Once you are logged in, click the "My Account" link at the top of the page. Here, you can edit your address to choose a new location or click the "Edit Map Positioning" link to tweak the exact position of your address on the map. Don't forget, if you change your address you need to click "Submit" before you can edit the map positioning of that address.
How can I correct the map location of a 7-Eleven?The Flavor Map is not an exact science and sometimes address locations aren't accurately represented. The good news is that I can update the exact latitude and longitude coordinates of a store that is listed on this site. If you notice that a store's position on the map is incorrect just email me a zoomed in satellite picture of the Flavor Map with the 7-Eleven building somehow indicated (circled, colored in, etc). This way, I can edit the store's location and place the marker directly on top of the correct building.
How do I update a stores flavor listing?
Login and navigate to the "Update Flavors" page. There you will find a listing of the 7-Eleven stores tracked on the site and you can click "EDIT FLAVORS" to update the flavors at any 7-Eleven store. You can also find a particular 7-Eleven store on the "Flavor Map," click the stores icon, and then click "UPDATE FLAVORS."
Why isn't my local 7-Eleven store listed?Since 7-Eleven is "unable" to give me a list of all of their store, I am unable to add every store locations. Luckily, there is a way to correct that issue. Please see "How can I get my local 7-Eleven store to appear on this site?" below for information on adding your local 7-Eleven to this site.
How can I get my local 7-Eleven store to appear on this site?Once you create an account and login you will see a link in the navigation bar titled "Add-A-Store." You will have to know the store's unique store id and exact address which can be found by visiting the 7-11 Store Locator. Just enter the store's information and you'll automatically be taken to the page where you can update that store's flavors.
